Privacy policy

Effective November 5, 2026.

This policy covers KidneyHD Edit for Mac, KidneyHD for iPhone and iPad, the KidneyHD Audio driver, and this website. In short, the apps collect no personal data, send nothing to us, and contain no advertising, analytics or tracking.

What the apps store

The apps keep their settings, your preset backups and, for Sharing, pairing keys on your own devices:

Settings stay in the app's preferences on the device.
Before KidneyHD Edit overwrites a preset or a setlist on your pedal, it saves a copy in its Application Support folder on your Mac. KidneyHD keeps its copies in its Documents folder, which you can open in Files.
Pairing keys for Sharing stay in the Keychain on each device.

The apps read information from your pedal, such as its serial number, firmware versions and activated model packs, to show it to you. They do not send it anywhere.

When you turn on Sharing in KidneyHD Edit, your Mac advertises itself on your local network with Bonjour, and paired iPhones and iPads connect to it directly. TLS encrypts the connection, and the Mac only accepts devices you paired with a code. KidneyHD Edit only accepts connections from your local network. Preset data travels between your own devices and nowhere else. The apps ask for Local Network access for this, and work without it except for Sharing.

Handoff between your Mac and your iPhone or iPad goes through Apple's Handoff service, under Apple's privacy policy. It carries your Mac's Sharing identifier and the name of the preset you're editing.

KidneyHD Audio

The driver and its control service run on your Mac only. They make no network connections and log no personal information.

This website

Cloudflare hosts kidneyhd.com and may process your IP address and browser details to deliver pages and protect the site, under Cloudflare's privacy policy. The site sets no cookies and uses no analytics.

Children

The apps collect no data from anyone, including children under 13.
