Support
Write to support@kidneyhd.com. Tell us your pedal model, your Mac or device and its system version, and what happened. For the KidneyHD Audio driver, you can also open an issue on GitHub.
The manual covers every feature. KidneyHD Edit has it built in, under Help.
Common questions
Which pedals work? KidneyHD works with the POD HD Desktop, HD500, HD500X, HD Pro and HD Pro X. We have tested it on the HD Desktop. It doesn't support the HD300 and HD400.
Do I need a driver? You don't need one for editing. KidneyHD Edit talks to the pedal over USB on its own. Install KidneyHD Audio if you also want to play and record audio through the pedal over USB.
Can I use the iPhone or iPad app without a Mac? Only the built-in demo pedal works without a Mac. KidneyHD edits the pedal through a Mac that runs KidneyHD Edit with Sharing on, because the pedal connects to the Mac over USB.
Does it update the pedal's firmware? No. Firmware updates need Line 6 Monkey and Line 6's driver.
Troubleshooting
KidneyHD Edit says the pedal is in use. Another app holds the pedal's editing channel, for example another editor. Quit it, then choose Reconnect.
The iPhone or iPad can't find the Mac.
- Make sure both are on the same network.
- Make sure Settings › Sharing is on in KidneyHD Edit.
- Allow KidneyHD in the iPhone's Settings › Privacy & Security › Local Network.
- If the Mac's firewall is on, allow KidneyHD Edit in System Settings › Network › Firewall.
No sound from the Mac through the pedal. USB audio needs KidneyHD Audio. Pick the pedal as the output in System Settings › Sound, and check that its volume isn't down.
The pedal stopped answering. Choose Reconnect in KidneyHD Edit. If that doesn't help, turn the pedal off and on again, and tell us what you were doing so we can fix the cause.
